Waterville School Homecoming Parade
Mr. Helleson's High School Biology Class field trip to the Entiat River Fish Hatchery.
This program is a great supplement to the ecosystem's unit for the High School Biology course. Students performed four different experiments. Two were on land as they performed water quality testing and riparian field studies. Then in the afternoon they put on waders to collect macroinvertebrates to calculate the health of the river and perform stream flow measurements.

Arena-Style Drop-In: Following your scheduled student-led time, teachers will be available in an arena-style drop-in format so you and your student can visit with individual subject teachers as needed.

It has come to my attention that the original Halloween parade map did not include all of the businesses that are usually part of our parade route. This was simply an oversight, and I apologize for the confusion. The updated map now includes those businesses.
We are looking forward to making our way around town in our costumes and seeing our Waterville community next Thursday!

🧡 Celebrating Unity Day at Waterville Schools! 🧡
Today, our Waterville High School Club 7 student leaders brought our school community together to celebrate kindness, connection, and bullying prevention! By encouraging everyone to wear ORANGE, they helped reinforce the message that we all have the power UNITE to create a school culture that is kind, respectful, and inclusive.
During advisory, Club 7 led a brief assembly for students in Grades 6–12, sharing valuable resources to help students prevent and report bullying. They also fostered connection and belonging through fun, inclusive lunch activities, including Connection Bingo, a mini duck hunt, and a ping pong tournament! Students also stopped by the Club 7 table to pick up some Only7Seconds merchandise as a reminder that they matter, they belong, and we’re glad they’re here.
Adding a little extra color and kindness to our week, Club 7 also created beautiful sidewalk chalk art for students, staff, families, and community members to enjoy as they come and go from our building.
Way to go, Club 7! Your leadership makes a meaningful difference in our school community. Thank you for reminding us that small acts of kindness and connection can have a big impact. Together, we can help every student feel safe, seen, and supported—because everyone deserves to belong! 🧡

The Football concession stand/shed is receiving a much-needed roof upgrade. Funding for this project comes from Waterville taxpayer funded Capital Project levy.

I wanted to make you aware that today our school briefly went into a Secure the Building status after we were notified by RiverCom of activity occurring outside of our campus.
The incident did not take place on school grounds. Out of an abundance of caution, we were asked to keep students and staff inside the building until the situation was cleared. The incident was handled quickly, and we were able to return to our normal school day.
Our students and staff did a great job following directions and responding appropriately. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to keep our students and school community safe.

Quiero informarles que hoy nuestra escuela entró brevemente en estado de “Asegurar el edificio” (Secure the Building) después de que RiverCom nos notificara sobre una situación que estaba ocurriendo fuera de nuestro campus.
El incidente no ocurrió dentro de las instalaciones escolares. Como medida de precaución, se nos pidió mantener a los estudiantes y al personal dentro del edificio hasta que la situación estuviera resuelta. El incidente se resolvió rápidamente y pudimos reanudar nuestro día escolar normal.
Nuestros estudiantes y el personal hicieron un excelente trabajo siguiendo las instrucciones y respondiendo de manera apropiada. Bus Evacuation Drill
Today, all students participated in a bus evacuation drill. This important safety exercise helps prepare students to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency while riding a school bus on a regular route, field trip, or other school-sponsored travel.
Prior to the drill, teachers reviewed the evacuation procedures with students in their classrooms, so they knew what to expect and understood the importance of the activity. Students then practiced the evacuation process with their designated groups. Each group's drill took approximately 10 minutes, and the entire activity was completed in about 30 minutes.
We are proud of our students for taking the drill seriously and following directions so well. Practicing these procedures helps ensure that students are prepared and confident in the event of an emergency, and safety will always remain a top priority at Waterville School.
